When you choose the Internet as a marketing or sales tool for your business, you need to ensure that it is, in fact, the tool that your customer would use to find you or buy your products and services. This highlights one of the biggest challenges of estrategy development because customer behaviour is difficult to predict. To overcome this estrategy challenge, you should address five key questions about your product.

1. Is your product tangible or digital/intangible?

2. Does your product have search or material characteristics?

3. In which stage of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) is your product?

4. Is your product durable or non-durable?

5. Is your product perceived as a convenience, shopping, or specialty product?
