1 Million FREE listings already

SAFindit.co.za celebrated their 1 millionth free listing recently.

Started by a group of friends almost 7 years ago the simple theory was that by giving away free advertising for any business, you automatically created the biggest directories, which in turn gave the users the best results in finding what they were looking for. SAFindit now generates over 40 000 searches a day, and has 32 branches Countrywide.

Anyone can now download a small menu onto their computer screen that gives them free access and advertising on all their sites absolutely free. It can be downloaded from www.SAFindit.co.za

Make free business calls using proudly South African software

Innovative software allows users to make free cellphone-to-cellphone calls to both local and international numbers, as well as offering greatly reduced landline call rates.

By using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, applications such as Skype can drastically reduce business telephone costs by using a data network to make a voice call. In order to take advantage of these savings, one traditionally had to have access to a computer, preferably one with an ADSL connection.

Last year, two pioneering South African start-ups cut out the need for a standard pc-based connection to VoIP networks, by introducing VoIP that can be accessed via cellphone or standard landline phone. Storm Buckingham investigates.

Choosing a software supplier – questions SME’s need to ask

Last time Malcolm Rabson, Dariel Solutions weighed up the options of building or buying applications – this time he looks at choosing a development partner, should you want to build your own applications.

Choosing this route, requires a number of issues to be considered and, over time, the market will realise that targeting specific vendors for different niche specific services can work very well. Having the skills and more importantly having a practice methodology that is combined with the experience of having successfully delivered these services before is essential. All these issues pertain to risk reduction in providing and delivering services – key to any small business.

Therefore, when looking for a development partner, there are four questions a SME owner should ask before making a selection.

”Not all problems have a technological answer, but when they do, that is the more lasting solution." - Andrew Grove, co-founder, Intel.
