Rylurx

Rylurx IT is a Web Design company based in Cape Town, South Africa. They offer a variety of Information Technology services focussing on Web Design and Desktop Software Application Development. The list of added service offerings would be Graphic Design, 2 and 3D Illustrations / Animations, Corporate ID, Flash and PowerPoint Presentations, Domain Registrations and Website hosting.

1. When did you start your Internet Business?
Rylurx IT was founded in July 2004 and was part of the launch pad program, which was introduced by CITI and Western Cape government.

2. How many times have you completely reworked your business model?
We have reworked our business model about three times. Initially we structured our business around our Football Domain concept. There after we only focused on getting the business off the ground so it was mostly web development and graphic design. Now we are doing the Football Domain and providing our other services concurrently.

3. What has been your financial growth in 2004/2005? What is the financial forecast for 2006/2007?
2004 / 2005 = +- R80 000
2005 / 2006 = +- R180 000 (Projected)

4. How reliant are you on Wi-Fi e.g. hotspots or 3G? Please specify?
We are hardly use Wi-Fi.

5. When do you project recovering all losses from day one?
We hope to recover all loses by about 2007/2008

6. Do you see your market as local or international? Where does South Africa fit into your business model in the past / future?
Currently our market is local however we will be implementing our Sports administration system in the national and then international markets. We first want to service the local market and use that as our working model which we will present to other markets.

7. Who financed your business – yourself / 3rd party, friends or institutions?
Working capital and member contributions have assisted in the growth of the business.

8. Describe some of your most despairing moments?
Not knowing where the next new project will come from and knowing all the expenses are yet to be covered or having members leave because the current financial reward is not yet on par and clients deliberately delaying payments or trying to doge you when you make contact. No matter how good of a moment you might be having when one of these types of issues creep in, it can be like you getting hit by a brick wall and if they are not treated properly they could cripple the business.

9. What were your greatest confidence boosters e.g. consumer confidence?
Having clients refer you to other clients and speaking of the company in high regard. Having high profile people in the football fraternity say yes there is a need for our project.

10. Were you a do-it-all-yourself entrepreneur? Is this still the case? Can you see this changing?
Yes you can say that. We are only skilled in IT but we do, do everything ourselves. This will probably stay the same until we can afford to employ staff with the relevant skills.

11. Have changes in technology been a threat or opportunity?
The greater emergence of WAP and 3G cell phones could be classified as an opportunity for Internet Entrepreneurs to tap into bigger market.
