Bond origination franchising a prosperous opportunity
SA Guides spoke to Giovanni Gaggia from the Independent Bond Specialists, Priority Bonds about bond origination in South Africa, origination franchising, and what makes Priority Bonds a successful franchising opportunity.
“Bond origination has come a long way since its inception into the South African market,” says Giovanni. “The market is very buoyant at the moment with loads of activity coming from all sectors, including private home owners, real estate agents, developers and property investor’s. I would, however, like to see the introduction of more banks and lenders in this country, as there is always room for competition.”
Whether you’re involved in the finance or property market or you are an entrepreneur the opportunities abound. According to Giovanni, someone thinking of getting involved in this booming bond origination industry; requires an attitude of great service delivery and a willingness to learn and grow.
“Experience is helpful but not a pre-requisite. New entrants must be careful to ensure that they partner with a company that has similar values to these I have mentioned.”
Being involved in various other businesses including real estate, the bond origination business dovetailed very nicely with Giovanni’s current activities so he decided to open his own brand of bond origination. It has grown substantially over the years and has developed into a national brand with great people involved.

He advises his client to remember that the right advice is always only a phone call away.
“Our clients benefit because we represent all major banks but are not loyal to any bank, but rather our loyalties lie with our clients and therefore we negotiate with banks on their behalf. This ensures that the client receives professional, unbiased advice and the best deal available.”
The Priority Bonds strategy is not to blindly recruit new agencies but rather they prefer to be very selective about who joins their dynamic team.

When asked what a potential franchisor should look out for when entering into the field of bond origination, Giovanni advised to be sure to choose a partner that offers the best deal and check them out to ensure they do in fact deliver on this.
“Make sure that there is true ongoing real support so that after the initial training you can still approach people on a regular and ongoing basis without it costing any additional funds.
“Business ownership is one of the best methods to obtain financial freedom and obtain freedom from a normal 9-5 type job scenario. In a world where job security is a thing of the past, I firmly believe that your own business, particularly one where support, experience and help is available, is a must for anyone that is serious about securing their future.”
