New Business Trends Social Media
Are you making it Easy for Your Customers to Find You?
When you walk down the main road of town or walk around in a shopping centre, it’s usually easy to find the shop or business you are looking for. They often have big signs and banners displayed outside the door or window to let you know they are there. However, when it comes to small businesses, how easy is it really to find them?
As a small business owner have you asked yourself the following:
• How easy am I making it for my customers to find me?
• What more can I do to make it easier for potential customers to find me?
Many years ago I ran a small flyer distribution business. Statistics in this business show that you only get a 1% return for every 1,000 flyers you send out. So, what can you do to get noticed?
Walter Pike, a marketing maven, said in a workshop in Johannesburg that 70% of our offline advertising efforts are wasted advertising. So, what do we do, how do we find our customers?
The internet is how? Building and online presence, creating brand and business awareness online is how you are going to make it easier for your customers to find you?
With the breakthrough in Web 2.0 also known as social media more and more people are now using the internet to find out about products and services but before you jump on the gravy train, you need to do some homework. You can spend hours and hours on the internet, Facebooking this, tweeting that, blogging this but if you do not have a clear strategy, a clear message and know who your audience is you could very well be wasting your time.
Here is a good article written by Sarah Duce of EMedia based in the UK which is worth a read if you are thinking about using social media, or if you are using social media but perhaps you are not getting anywhere.
